Popular fast food chain set to launch second restaurant in Liverpool

A new fried chicken restaurant is coming to Liverpool, with Popeyes set to open a second location in the city. Known for its fried chicken, Popeyes has become a popular fast food chain since its founding in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1972.

For many years, the brand only operated in the USA, but that began to change recently. The chain launched its first UK restaurant in London in 2021, and in November 2022, it opened its first Liverpool branch on Lord Street. Until now, this has been the only Popeyes in the city.

However, reports emerged this week confirming a new Popeyes restaurant is opening at the New Mersey Retail Park in Speke. Photos from the site, located next to TGI Fridays and near the Cineworld cinema, show Popeyes branding on the storefront, featuring one of their famous chicken sandwiches against the chain's signature orange backdrop.
