CCTV footage has been released of two men that police are trying to identify in connection with a shooting incident in Liverpool.
The 27-year-old victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg, took himself to the hospital at 10:10 PM on Monday, October 28, according to Merseyside Police. The shooting is believed to have occurred about 30 minutes earlier on Denman Drive, Tuebrook, as the victim was exiting a private hire taxi. Detectives have now shared images of two men walking along nearby Prescot Road at 10:07 PM that evening, as they believe the individuals may have information relevant to the investigation.
"Reckless" Attack
The victim has since been discharged from the hospital. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson, from the force's firearms investigation team, expressed hope that the released images could “jog someone’s memory” and urged anyone who may have seen the men to come forward immediately.
“To fire on someone in such a reckless manner could have had far more serious, if not fatal, consequences,” Atkinson said. “Public information is crucial in breaking down the organised crime groups that cause so much harm in our communities, and I urge anyone with information to step forward.”
